St Albans MP, Anne Main attended the first Mosque open day on Hatfield Road.
Anne said, ‘Akhtar Zaman and his team made us all very welcome yesterday, at what was an enormously well-attended event and their first open-day.
‘Speaking to people afterwards, many found Mr Zaman’s talk about the Mosque’s role in society, and the principles of Islam, fascinating.
‘St Albans is extremely lucky to have such a closely integrated community. It was pleasing to see representatives from many religious groups in attendance and enjoying the event.
‘I understand the Mosque will hold similar events in the future and I encourage interested local residents to attend what would be an educational and enlightening experience.’
